About us
or: how we got to the French Bulldog
In 2016, we spent an extended weekend on the island of Rügen. One evening, a French Bulldog named Holly, lying under the neighboring table in a restaurant, captured our attention. Holly watched us closely and literally stole our food with her unique gaze. Not only was she a little glutton, but above all, she turned out to be a true clown and charmer. That was when we were hooked.
A few years and many books later, when we decided to get a French Bulldog. Elsa-Lotta vom Krusenhof joined our family in November 2020, and she turned our lives upside down in the best possible way. A little creature with a lion’s heart, loving and loyal. She gives so much back that we can’t imagine ever living without her.
When we acquired a pedigree dog we knew we wanted to take part in the breed club’s activities and make connections. It was through this involvement that we discovered dog shows when a breeder encouraged us to show our beautiful Elsa-Lotta. We got her all dolled up, leash in hand, and went to the German Winner Show in Gelsenkirchen in August 2021, where Elsa-Lotta shone with a second place in her class, making us proud as punch.
Caught by the excitement, we then started attending ring training with Elsa-Lotta and got seriously involved. Through contacts with breeders and exhibitors from other breeds, we also began to exhibit abroad, later with two dogs: Gold-Sierra Sugarcube joined us in October 2022.
In addition to showing, we delved into the scientific aspects of cynology, attended online and in-person seminars on dog breeding and health. The final step was not far, and we decided to register a kennel with the breed club FBVD e.V., which is part of the VDH and FCI. And so, EcLat de Sucre was born.
The well-being of our dogs and the preservation of the breed are very important to us. We hope that our breeding produces healthy, happy, and beautiful French Bulldogs. Our goal is not only to improve the quality of the animals through responsible breeding practices but also to find them loving homes where they are treated with love, responsibility, and respect. May every litter be a valuable contribution to the preservation and improvement of the breed, and may everyone who has the pleasure of adopting a dog from our kennel experience the same joy that we have with our dogs.
